Some Impressions of today’s games
Eliott Morris Devred vs Manuel Paquemar 3-1 (7-11, 1-11, 11-7, 2-11) It looked like it was going to be a straight win for Elliot after two games. But then he got a little bit confused by some decisions by the referee. He started to make mistakes and lost the third game. He got his things together again in game four and finished the game quite easily. | Omar El Torkey vs Francesco Marcantoino 3-1 (8-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-7) Very attractive game were 2 players showed some great squash skills and position play. The margins were close but Omar deserved to win in the end. |
Joeri Hapers vs Joshua Phinera 3-1 (11-9, 11-3, 7-11, 11-5) Homeground clubtrainer Joeri Hapers rose up to the expectations of the homecrowd against Joshua Phinera. Joeri won the first game by a close margin. The crowd was expecting an easy win after game 2 as Joeri cruised towards an 11-3 win. But in game 3 Joeri started to make mistakes and was a little irritated by his own game. So Joshua took game 3. In game 4 Joeri powered up again and was never in danger. | Adegoke Onaopemimpo vs Valentin Rapp 2-3 (11-9, 5-11, 11-8, 6-11, 8-11) A messy game in which resulted in lots of physical contacts and a lot of discussions about lets and strokes. Adegoke lost the match due, in the majority of the crowd’s opinion, some “remarkable” decisions by the referee (he was clearly robbed of two points). Both players were of the same strength. Were Valentin tried to speed up the game, Adegoke tried to slow it down, |
Jose Gallegos vs Leo Chung 0-3 (4-11, 4-11, 8-11) An easy win by Leo. An attractive game with Leo faster than the speed of Sound. | Robin Gadola vs René Mijs 3-0 (11-6,11-6,11-7) René couldn’t deliver another surprise. Although René did the best he could (supported by the crowd), Robin was clearly the better player. |
James Peach vs Ammar Altamimi 3-0 A clear win by James Peach | Ronald Palomino vs Ka Hei Ho 3-0 A clear win by Ronald Palomino |
