There were a lot of matches at the PSA Rotterdam Open on april 3rd, but match of the day – in a negative sense – was the match between Seif Tamer and Noah Meredith. Both players were more busy with each other than with playing squash. Which resulted in an explosive atmosphere on the court. Both players were to blame, and giving the referee a hard time, but in the end Noah loss of temper resulted in him losing the match (due to lack of focus). It was a pity to see that kind of behaviour on centre court.
The other matches were luckily played in a more friendly manner. In the man’s half every match went as expected, with the home crowd enjoying the spectacular win of their own Joeri Hapers. Hapers had a tough match and luckily escaped.
In the woman’s part of the schedule some surprises were seen. Rafaela Albuja did beat Renske Huntelaar and Sofi Zrazhevska kicked Aylin Gunsav out of the tournament.
The home crowd also enjoyed the game between two home players. In a one-sided match Juliette Permentier did convincingly defeat Eva Maas.
